HE WHO SITS WITH THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL NOT SUFFER

HADITH OF THE DAY:

HE WHO SITS WITH THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL NOT SUFFER

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that God has angels who seek out gatherings in which His name is mentioned.

When the people in the gathering depart, the angels rise to heaven and

God asks them:

“From where have you come?”

And they say:

“We have come from some servants of Yours on earth. They were glorifying You, exalting you, witnessing that there is no god but You, praising You, and asking (favors) of You.”

God then says:

“And what do they ask of Me?”

The angels tell God that those in the gathering seek God’s forgiveness, entry into Paradise and protection from hell-fire.

God then says:

“I have forgiven them and I have bestowed on them what they have asked for, and I have granted them sanctuary from that which they asked protection.”

The angels then tell God:

“O Lord, among them (was a great sinner) who was merely passing by and sat down with them.”

God then replies:

“And to him (too) I have given forgiveness, (for) he who sits with such people shall not suffer.”
