SPEAK THE TRUTH, EVEN IF IT IS BITTER

HADITH OF THE DAY:

SPEAK THE TRUTH, EVEN IF IT IS BITTER

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

"If you have four characteristics, whatever worldly advantage passes you by does not matter to you: keeping a trust, speaking the truth, a good character, and (moderation in eating)."

Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 1370

The Prophet also said:

"God, show mercy to Umar, (for) he speaks the truth even if it is bitter."

Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 1613

I find your blog high in dogma, low in thought. The devout world of Islam and the rest of the world would be well served if the politics of the extremists among us (on all sides) were confronted and prevented from eclipsing the valuable tenets of faith that promote spiritual growth and the love of ones neighbors in spite of cultural and spiritual differences.

I ask you straightly sir, have I somehow missed some comments you might have made dealing with the political propaganda mixed with the teachings of the great Prophet in the Madrassa schools throughout the Mideast? If you have addressed this issue and I have overlooked it, I humbly beg your pardon.

Peace be upon us all.
