HADITH OF THE DAY:
ONE-THIRD OF THE QURAN
A man once heard another person repeatedly reciting chapter 112 of the Holy Quran:
"Say: 'He is the One God: God the Eternal, the Uncaused Cause of All Being. He begets not, and neither is He begotten; and there is nothing that could be compared with Him.'"
The next morning, the man came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and mentioned the incident as if he regarded the recitation of that chapter as somehow insufficient. The Prophet replied:
"By Him Who holds my soul in His hand. That (chapter) equals one-third of the Quran."
